AbstractLIDAR: High Resolution Data for Nonpoint Source Hydrologic Analysis Track: Water Distribution, Wastewater, and Stormwater Author(s): Kurt Johnson Developed in the 1960s, LIDAR is currently emerging as one of the newest technologies used for geographic analysis. An overview of fundamental concepts and advantages for using LIDAR as an environmental data source will be discussed. Specific examples comparing resolutions between LIDAR and standard DEM data as applied to Nonpoint Source hydrologic analysis will be presented.
