 The GIS Nucleus: A Synergistic Mechanism for Wastewater Operations Management Track: Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater Author(s): Shawn Summers, Kevin Perkey Deep within the daily operations of the McCandless Township Sanitary Authority lies a developed GIS system, positioned to organize and direct all other management operations. Through a server-based GIS hub, regulatory satisfaction, infrastructure management, accounting, and customer demographics interface in an additive fashion to deliver a model utility package. The hurdles encountered in structuring this centralized approach will be magnified and resolved. Total operations managed through a centralized ArcView GIS-driven solution allow for governmental utilities to stage for a changing future of compliance and necessary efficiency.
