2004 UC Proceedings Abstract
Infrastructure Data Management Using ArcGIS and Hansen Track: Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater Author(s): Clay Wise, Brian Wienke This paper and presentation will describe the data development process at the City of Virginia Beach, using ArcGIS integrated with Hansen Information Management System. This presentation will cover how the city of Virginia Beach migrated utility data (water and sanitary sewer) from an Esri Personal Geodatabase into the city's Hansen asset management system. We will cover the process the Public Utilities department used to define, create, and maintain system integration. Th success of this project has helped the Operations Division maintain and track work order history against a current and complete inventory of all infrastructure assets. It achieved savings in both time and money. The quality of the work also improved significantly over previous manual data migration efforts. All of these factors have contributed to success of this project.
