Creating an Incident Tracking System Through Disparate Data Sources Track: Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Author(s): Scott Crossney The New Jersey State Police houses a myriad of distinct database systems that accrue information relating to a wide array of data containing locational information. Several of these systems provide data relating to trooper locations as incidents occur. While these data sources have been utilized for their analytical content, the ability to monitor dynamic locations has not been developed to this point. This study will show the translation of these data stores into a format that will create a dynamic source of locational information. This data can be used not only for analytical purposes but also for management and deployment concerns by providing dynamic positional data without the use of global positioning systems.
