DSL Target Marketing Using ArcIMS

SBC Communications, Inc., is a global leader in telecommunications services and provides a full range of voice, data, networking, and e-business services to address the specific needs of individual businesses and consumers. SBC is America's leading provider of high-speed DSL Internet access service and one of the nation's leading Internet Service Providers. In support of on-going DSL sales and marketing efforts, the Marketing GIS department at SBC developed the DSL Prospecting application to enhance the identification of areas most likely to be responsive to targeted marketing campaigns. Developed as an ArcIMS application, the DSL Prospecting tool enables users to visualize telecommunications boundary data, along with existing business and residential customers, and summarized market penetration information. This paper presents an overview of the application and the data processing methodology used to support the application.
