 GIS in Local Government Track: State and Local Government Author(s): Barry Waite The fifteen cities of Los Angeles County's South Bay work together to maximize the quality of life and productivity of the region. One of the most successful areas of cooperation has been GIS. Cities share data and expertise, even providing ArcGIS technical support and services to each other. The region has an award-winning shared ArcIMS application called the South Bay Traffic Alert System, and two other ArcIMS applications in development.
