ITAM's GIS Information Products Program and IMS Centric Approach Track: GIS Organization and Management Author(s): Nathaniel Whelan The U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR) Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) program provides standardized GIS Information Products, ranging from 3D Raised Relief Maps to DVD based Viewers to training support staff and direct to the units. The focal point of the Information Products program is the ITAM Mapper, an ArcIMS 4.0.1 implementation which utilizes both lat/long and UTM map services to display Europe-wide datasets, to include high resolution training area orthoimagery. The Mapper system architecture includes ArcSDE 8.2, Oracle8i, IIS, ArcGIS 8.2, and an advanced web tracking system. The Information Products program has become institutionalized within ITAM, with its own management processes, dedicated support contracts, standard operating protocol, and personnel.
