 Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Interactive Mapping and Analysis Web Site Track: State and Local Government Author(s): Mele Koneya The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and Council of Governments (COG) for Maricopa County, Arizona. To assist MAG member agencies and the public in analyzing and displaying data, an Interactive Mapping and Analysis Tool has been added to the MAG Web site. This tool is a customization of ArcIMS that allows users to create a variety of thematic maps, currently based on the year 2000 census or on MAG's socioeconomic projections by Regional Analysis Zones (RAZ). This tool also allows users to create density maps and more complex calculations such as the change in population density over time. The reporting tool provides a summary of selected census or RAZ data in a statistical report. The report format gives the user a map of the selected area and comparative statistics. This paper/presentation will address the major components of the Web site and demonstrate its functionality.
