PACS 2000 Sewer Use Enforcement Integrates Cincinnati Area GIS Track: Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater Author(s): Christopher Hall To protect the wastewater treatment system from corrosive chemicals, toxic pollutants, and grease obstructions the Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) of Greater Cincinnati uses ArcView to link to databases in many other agencies. To schedule surveillance monitoring and investigations, manage the paperwork, and generate permits and enforcement letters, MSD recently implemented the PACS 2000 pretreatment information management system application with an Oracle database. Integrating PACS 2000 into the Cincinnati Area GIS (CAGIS) utility was an essential next step. The data now available to MSD investigators extends well beyond anything previously incorporated into an enforcement case. This paper will present a brief introduction to pretreatment information and, via a live demonstration, show current GIS functionality. In addition, several enforcement cases will be used to highlight key features. Come see how our PACS-CAGIS integration can help you prosecute your sewer abusers.
