2004 UC Proceedings Abstract
Suitability for a Lower Income Golf Course in Corpus Christi Track: State and Local Government Author(s): Noah Wight A suitability spatial analysis of Corpus Christi using GIS to determine the best location for a new golf course is proposed in this research. The analysis would include using public records and economic data to interpret the existing property owners, while creating new suitability locations by using projected data. The important data sets would include flood plain data, demographics, land use, and future building plans. This project would show how spatial data can be interpreted to determine best location and also an economic analysis of how the new building would affect surrounding developments. Possibilities include putting a golf course in a lower-class neighborhood to stimulate economic growth or in a new development to hasten expansion.
