2004 UC Proceedings Abstract
ArcIMS Intranet Application: San Diego CityWorks Tracks Municipal Projects Track: State and Local Government Author(s): Rod Greek, Chris Pyle At any given time, the City of San Diego has thousands of construction projects in various stages of planning, design, or construction. Many of these projects are pipelines or other work affecting the public right-of-way. These and other Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) requires coordination with other staff and citizens within the various communities. As a result, the City of San Diego has created a GIS application called San Diego CityWorks, running on ArcIMS, to create online maps that display City projects in an easy to use, up-to-date format. San Diego CityWorks is available on the City of San Diego intranet (CityNet) for access by City elected officials, executive management, project managers, and public information personnel. The information can also be used to help the community understand City projects by using San Diego CityWorks in City meeting facilities with access to CityNet.
