Implementing an Integrated Street Centerline Geodatabase
Track: Transportation
Author(s): Twyla McDermott, Ron Butcher

In February 2003, departments of the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, North Carolina joined forces to advance the capabilities of their collective street centerline resources. This collaborative team strives to improve the efficiency and capability of street centerline resources and to merge multiple street centerline databases into a single, comprehensive, well-designed geodatabase that will manage the data needs from the transportation department to the police and other public safety departments. This presentation starts where last years Esri presentation left off (Developing an Integrated Street Centerline Geodatabase) and process of taking a street centerline plan and turn it into an implemented, maintainable centerline geodatabase. This includes both integration of current centerline into the new geodatabase as well as the implementation of a maintenance environment.
