 Bangladesh Industrial Pollution Estimation System Track: Environmental Management Author(s): Md. Shamim Hasan BIPES is a modeling system which combines data from industrial with data on pollution emissions to calculate pollution intensity factors, i.e. the level of pollution emissions per unit of industrial activity The pollution intensities for air, water, toxic and metal pollution for each industry contains a set of conventional pollution parameters. Capabilities of the developed BIPES software interface include: input and updating of manufacturing industry data, industrial pollution coefficients, and resource data; calculating pollution loads by industry sectors; calculating pollution impacts on selected resources by administrative districts; making queries to find out pollution loads distribution across districts; making queries to identify the sources of pollution both at district and national level; making queries to identify the dirties districts and dirtiest industry sectors in Bangladesh which contribute high percentage of pollution; and a number of tools for Maps viewing, windows manipulation, etc. Md.
