 Improving Esri ArcSDE Client Performance With Spatial Culling Track: Application Development Author(s): DJ Bauch This paper will report on the examination of the impact on performance of ArcView map documents containing large numbers of ArcSDE layers achieved through spatial culling of the layers on the client. The work includes custom ArcObjects behavior that uses envelopes to minimize the round-trip traffic to the ArcSDE server by dynamically disabling layers with spatial extents that do not intersect the view.
