2004 UC Proceedings Abstract
MAF/TIGER Accuracy Improvement Project Update Track: Census and Geodemographics Author(s): James Cawlo The U.S. Census Bureau embarked on a major initiative in 2003 to modernize its geographic support infrastructure. The Geography Division plans to correct the location inaccuracy of existing road, boundary, and other feature information in the TIGER databases using geographic information system files, imagery or field collected GPS data maintained by state, local, tribal partners, or commercial vendors. The MAF/TIGER Enhancement Database (TED) is the inventory containing metadata on tribal, state, local, and commercial geospatial holdings that determine the sources used to enhance the TIGER database. This presentation will highlight the 2004 project milestones and accomplishments and outline lesson's learned.
