Automating the MTAIP File Review Process Using ArcObjects and VBA Track: Database Design, Automation, and Management Author(s): Deanna Fowler In support of the U.S. Census Bureau's MAF/TIGER Accuracy Improvement Program (MTAIP), ArcObjects and VBA are being used to create a tool for reviewing the spatially enhanced files. This project is one of the first uses of ArcObjects by the Census Bureau in a production environment. The review tool incorporates preprocessing routines for overlay and attribute comparisons between the old and new files and for creating tiles and samples to review. Once preprocessing is complete, the tool has several different modes for reviewing such as looping through and zooming to the selected sample. The reviewer is offered the ability to record errors and determine if the new file passes according to the specifications. This paper will present the review tool, the processes involved in its creation, and the pros and cons of using ArcObjects with VBA.
