Take a Ride on the ArkZoo Data Model Track: Ecology and Conservation Author(s): Steve McCarthy This paper is a chronicle of the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park's quest to build a Zoo data model. In the beginning, there were shapefiles and a GPS data dictionary. The facilitators needed the water, plant collections, and various other portions of the infrastructure mapped. Now the data must be shared with the masses. The data model was built to organize the data in the new geodatabase.
