The Application of GIS in Land Use Track: Application Development Author(s): Songling Zhang, qingfa wang GIS can process the spatial analysis and manage the spatial database effectively. In 1998, with ArcView 3.1 our work group developed an assessment and management system of land use of Ningxiang County, Hunan Province, China. It includes several main works: (1) design and develop the interface with DialogDesign; (2) mine, input agricultural information and digitize the specific maps; (3)manage classification, gradation, and change detection of land use with Avenue language; (4) make the final statistical output in the format of tables, figures, and images; (5) manage the system to be related with SQL database. The system proved to be successful.
