Environmental Risk Management for Bio/Ecosystems Information and Education Program Track: Environmental Management Author(s): Akiyuki Kawasaki In this five year program starting from 2002, we have been collecting data related to environmental risk to Bio/Eco-systems in East Asia. We sort the various data collected and analyze it by terrestrial systems and aquatic systems, and make it accessible for the general public and government in near future. The sorted data is accumulated and processed using the ArcGIS technology and Oracle Database. We study methods for these procedures and for the creation of an international etwork for the exchange of environmental risk management information using ArcGIS and related technologies. As a first step, in this presentation we will introduce the spatial information sharing system for the participating researchers using Arc Catalog Database Connection and Metadata Explorer from ArcIMS. We will also introduce the educational program with the concept of environmental risk management for Bio/Eco-systems and GIS.
