Modeling Changing Places With ArcGIS Image Analysis Capabilities Track: Modeling Author(s): Frank Biasi, Jeffrey Young A framework for modeling the changing faces of place with ArcGIS Image Analysis capabilities is presented in this discussion. In a general sense, these modeling and monitoring results can be indicators of the rate and impact of change on places globally. Change is geographic and temporal and merits a systematic examination. Remote observation tools and techniques are discussed to apply methods to systematically observe and measure macro-global changes with synoptic and specific locational observations. In the search for terra-rhythms the author has concluded that there is ample supply of tools, techniques, and methodologies to define terra-rhythms. What's lacking is a coordinated multi-national effort and discipline to deploy the tools and act on the results. We need to move beyond earth observation and earth monitoring to action-based earth decisions.
