Improving EMS Response With GIS Track: EMS, Fire and Disaster Management Author(s): Barry Bagwell, Tony Bradshaw GIS plays an essential role in every call MEDIC receives and is the foundation of its mobile data system. Beginning with the first question to the 911 caller--"Where is your emergency?"--GIS data is gathered and used to identify call location, provide a visual display for Emergency Medical Dispatchers, and guide them in dispatch and redeployment decisions. This paper will describe how MEDIC has combined four different Esri products to improve performance and better serve its patients.
