2004 UC Proceedings Abstract
How Government Agencies Can Use the National Integrated Land System Track: Cadastral and Land Records Author(s): Leslie Cone Data from the National Integrated Land System (NILS) is used to create a national multipurpose cadastre for the U.S. that is available to the public. This presentation will show how federal, state, and local governments can work with NILS and the ArcGIS technology to produce survey-based land descriptions for parcel management. Agencies can contribute survey and land description data to be processed through NILS and stored in the NILS enterprise geodatabase. Agencies will also be able to download their own personal geodatabase with NILS data and/or import data from NILS into their geodatabases. In addition, integrating data from the BLM's Land and Mineral Records System with NILS data to produce federal land ownership status will be demonstrated.
