Nature and Technology: Live GIS Training Camp in Bavarian Forest National Park Track: Education Author(s): Christoph Dahle Over the years, at the Technical University of Munich extensive forestal, climatological, and touristical data concerning the Bavarian Forest National Park has been gathered to set up an interdisciplinary research platform based on a Web-capable central GeoDBMS. The focus is now on a sustainable use of this research project, including a GIS training camp for kids as well as for teachers, students, and GIS users. Live education in nature and mobile GIS technology is realized, as the target is to enable the participants to compare real world objects with existing GIS models and perform spatial-temporal analysis.
