 Development of Software Tools for Making Environment Map Using ArcGIS Track: Application Development Author(s): Masanao Iuchi When an assessment of the environment is carried out, it is required making fundamental natural environment information such as a type classification figure of the environment by using the geography information system by the overlay of the topographical map, the geologic map and the animals and plants distribution map. But, there are many problems that the environment type classification map making technique using GIS, the standard of the kind, scale, introductory remarks of a map and so on. The environment base map making support GIS tool composed by a base environment classification GIS map making support tool, an environment type classification GIS map (ecotope map) making support tool and an assessment, management application map making support tool was developed. This tool works as an extension to Esri GIS software.
