Enterprise GIS-Federation of BHP Billiton GIS Efforts Track: Petroleum Author(s): Ekaterina Casey, Karl Warschau, Robert Graham BHP Billiton (BHP B) is a global company in the resources industry. It unites diverse divisions of Minerals and Petroleum exploration and production under ca orporate umbrella. The nature of the industry makes GIS a key component in geographic information sharing between the teams. BHP B Minerals Exploration has more than 10 years of GIS experience, while other divisions are just starting to use it. Now, with other divisions coming on board using GIS it is the right time to think about BHP B Enterprise GIS strategy and move forward toward the creation of BHP B Intra Geography Network. We would like to share our thoughts and first steps in this early stage of Enterprise GIS planning.
