Creating Metadata for the Long-Term Track: Metadata and Data Publishing Author(s): Lynda Wayne As the Geospatial Community begins the transition to international metadata and the development of geodata portals, the production of operational metadata becomes critical. Issues of completeness and accuracy remain fundamental, but new requirements for multiple links to services and data, use of ISO specific keywords, documentation of planned data resources, and metadata publication methods that enhance discovery have emerged.
