2004 UC Proceedings Abstract
ROAM Application Utilizing ArcWeb Services Track: ArcWeb Services Author(s): Steve Soto Retail Optimization Access Management (ROAM) is a key component of the U.S. Postal Service transformation plan. ROAM is a GIS used to identify current USPS access points and to assist in determining the appropriate access and site selection for future access. By increasing access to our products and services we can meet the needs of the local customer base within a geographical area by offering more choices for convenient business transactions. ROAM uses the power of Esri's ArcWeb Services. The system has improved functionality and flexibility. The quality and accuracy of the data has greatly improved. ROAM can generate state of the art graphical maps, demographic and income reports, and market profiles. ROAM also has the ability to display drive times from all of our access points. The ROAM tool is helping retail employees across the country manage the access needs of the Postal Service.
