Abstract
ArcGIS to Create Back Trajectory Maps of Measured Ozone Concentrations Track: Environmental Management Author(s): Fran Harvey Measured ambient ozone concentrations for specific sites and days were selected to address transport, local and recirculation issues. The time the concentration was measured is Central Standard Time (CST). The digitized polygon of the air parcel shows the possible range of the pollutant source measured at the ambient monitoring site and the air parcel hourly location. The back trajectory program (HYSPLIT) from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) requires at least three meteorological (met) data sets surrounding the monitoring site not including the site where the concentrations are being measured. The met data parameters needed for the back trajectory analysis are wind direction (degrees) and wind speed (kts) for a 24 hour period.
