Abstract
![]() GeoBase Communications Mission Data Set Editor: A Tailored ArcGIS Application Track: Defense and Intelligence Author(s): Richard Naus, Jack Worthy The United States Air Force 45th Space Wing has converted its legacy Geographic Information System data to a multi-user Geodatabase built on ArcSDE and stored in Oracle9i. To edit the data in the Air Force's new standard, GCMDS, a tailored application using ArcGIS 8.3 was developed. This presentation shall discuss and demonstrate the relationships contained within the Geodatabase and how the tailored editor interacts with the data. We shall also discuss some of the benefits the Air Force has received from the GCMDS Geodatabase built on SDE and use of a tailored ArcGIS Editor, such as higher data security, multi-user editing, higher consistency, and analysis capabilities.
