Abstract
![]() A Commercial and Industrial Land Inventory Analysis Using GIS Track: State and Local Government Author(s): Csar Prez, David Coleman, Henry Mogilevich Due to current and anticipated growth, Martin County, Florida, realized the need for an updated commercial and industrial land inventory and analysis. The spatial nature of the project and the massive databases involved made ArcGIS a prime candidate for use in the project. Indeed, GIS was used in all facets of the project from data compilation to analysis. The County's goals were to identify and analyze lands that may be unsuitable for targeted industrial development and to determine the true supply of available land for targeted industries such as information technology and biotechnology. In addition, the County hoped to better determine if the current inventory of industrial land was appropriately located. This paper will include a summary of the project methodology and results.
