Abstract
GIS Analysis of Dynamic GPS Test Data Track: Agriculture Author(s): Benjamin Koostra, Timothy Stombaugh A dynamic testing system for GPS receivers is under development at the University of Kentucky consisting of a fixed I-beam track and a self-propelled cart that can perform repeatable tests that duplicate typical agricultural operations at variable speeds and durations. Once the data is collected from this testing system, analysis of the position points is performed to determine positional accuracy of the receiver being tested. Considerations for this process include determining the absolute path of the cart, test system tolerances, relative versus absolute accuracies of the GPS receiver, and "cross-track" versus actual error determination. Using GIS, multiple analysis techniques were attempted and evaluated for consideration as part of a proposed dynamic GPS test standard.
