Abstract
ArcGIS Software-Based Enterprise Asset Management Systems Implementation Track: State and Local Government Author(s): Edward Singer, Howard Luxhoj, Stephen Waldron The City of Richmond Department of Public Works is in the process of implementing an ArcGIS software-centric Enterprise Asset/Work Order Management system (Cityworks, by Azteca) to integrate a variety of disparate legacy applications and data sets as well as improve its daily asset-centric operating efficiencies and increase its level of service to customers. The project will also establish a comprehensive inventory of all public works assets and assist DPW in achieving APWA accreditation for Public Works Best Management Practices. This presentation will briefly review the Requirements Analysis and System Design activities undertaken to establish critical success factors and over-riding project framework. The customized Geodatabase data model which supports the program objectives will be highlighted. The integration/interfacing of the base system with legacy application databases will also be touched. Finally, a full description of the method(s) of asset capture and condition rating used to populate target maintenance management system with critical asset data for population into the City's Geodatabase will be performed.
