Abstract
![]() Forest Operation Management System Using Temporal Information Track: Forestry, Wildlife, and Fisheries Management Author(s): Youko Nishimiya, Kanichiro Mochizuki This paper gives attention towards the forest's role to reduce the CO2 emission by realizing the importance that the Kyoto Protocol would be published in 2008. To calculate the amount of CO2 absorption by the forest, it is necessary to understand the location where forest operation was enforced along with the detailed information. In the Forest Operation Management System, we tried to build the database for the Forest Operation records based on the GIS. And attempts were made to develop a selection function in relation to the temporal information. For the development of the present system, we were able to manage all the available past information about forest operation records in the database and could confirm what kinds of operations were conducted in a past specific period by using selection function for the temporal information.
