Abstract
 Save Time and Eliminate Errors with a Customized ArcPad Application Track: Application Development Author(s): Amy Haas Traditionally, field technicians have used paper maps and written notes to collect their field data. This practice leaves room for data entry error, lost papers, labor-intensive post processing and time-consuming QA/QC iterations. With the development of ArcPad 6.0.3, mobile devices and handheld GPS units, field technicians now have a more efficient and cost-effective method for collecting data. Custom ArcPad applications can be developed allowing userd to collect and manage their data, thus eliminating many of the traditional field data collection problems. This presentation will highlight the successful use of customized ArcPad applications used for Wetland and Stream field data collection for an Environmental Impact Statement. Specifically, it will emphasize the use of a centralized database, workflow and client needs, data integrity, analysis, and reporting. Amy Haas VHB, Inc.
