Abstract
Permit and Pollution Load Reductions: Tracking and Predicting Results Track: Environmental Management Author(s): Greg White The use of GIS allows users to both spatially and temporally track immediate permitting needs and, issued permits as well as predict future needs. By combining permit specifications and special conditions directly to landscape conditions, reasonable estimates of changes over time of pollution loads, especially nutrients, can be made. When field data is integrated into the system, predicted benefits can be evaluated against actual results observed over time. The latter allows for improved modeling, adjusting for future permitting requirements to better achieve desired results. This paper will present a project's conceptual development and implementation.
