 Open Data Consortium Project: Phase 3 Progress Report Track: State and Local Government Author(s): Bruce Joffe Building upon the Open Data Consortium project's model data distribution policy for local governments, the ODC also identified ten ways in which local governments can fund their GIS operations without having to sell geodata. Progress continues with requirements to automate data licensing through data portals, with implementing specific distribution policies and licenses, and recommending changes to local government practices.
