Mapping Temporal Crime Patterns through Animation Track: Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Author(s): Philip D. Mielke Animated GIS data products can provide a useful and efficient solution for dissemination of temporal crime patterns. This paper will explore a methodology involving kernel density patterns and the arrangement of GIS layers within a web-based multimedia presentation. This methodology can be applied to various other industries of GIS and considered an efficent display framework for spatial analyses involving time. Philip D.
