Abstract
The Integration of Google Earth with Esri Products at Pierce County Track: Remote Sensing Imagery Author(s): Stan Grochowski At Pierce County GIS, we have been asked by our ambitious and curious users, "when, where and how will Google Earth be used in the County". To answer these growing questions, the Pierce GIS development team has created ways to use Google Earth in harmony with existing GIS applications. Google Earth supplies new data and tools to GIS users and is viewed as complimenting not replacing or competing with existing GIS systems. This presentation will show ways to tightly integrate Google Earth with ArcGIS and ArcIMS, how to import your GIS data into Google Earth and leverage the search capabilities of Google Earth. This paper will also explain the technical integration details as well as the challenges that lie ahead in making this available to all County users.
