Abstract
CIDR--An Intoxicating Remote Sensing Requirements Tool with Punch Track: Federal Systems Implementation Author(s): Thomas Cecere As part of the President's Commercial Remote Sensing Space Policy, USGS has spearheaded an effort to capture the civil remote sensing-related requirements. Identifying the geospatial component of the requirements is central to the success of this effort, with Esri shapefiles set as the current standard. The vision is to migrate this tool from a database containing shapefile information to a more powerful geodatabase. This presentation will highlight the overall concept of the requirements collecting process, the current capabilities of the requirements tool, and the envisioned capabilities that this tool will enable in the not too distant future. The intended audience is federal civil government employees who are interested in obtaining and utilizing remotely sensed imagery and products but do not have unlimited budgets, plus anyone who has an interest in learning how they can gain access to some of the federal civil agency remote sensing requirement information via CIDR.
