Land Development Application Tracking Track: State and Local Government Author(s): Frank Miele, Bruno Romano The city has recognized that a crucial component to a growth management strategy is integrating database and developing information systems related to urban growth. This data must be comprehensively gathered, shared and communicated among internal departments, external agencies and stakeholders. It is through the land development application process that growth-related activity is initiated. Keying on the business needs and workflows of departments and achieving good information management, will move the city toward meeting strategic goals regarding growth management. The automation of the land development approval processes is a complex task. Therefore, the system must assist the staff in ensuring applications are expedited in a timely manner. The system provides an automated means to monitor the progress of applications through the internal department/external agency circulation process. From a productivity standpoint, the solution ensures staff members have an automated means of efficiently expediting applications.
