Abstract
Applications in Civil Engineering Track: Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Author(s): James Barton GIS has traditionally been used as a planning and data management tool. However, with some script writing, GIS can be used for preliminary engineering design. This presentation will discuss some of the scripts available that can be used for basic system design and analysis. These internal scripts can be used in conjunction with other modeling software packages. Other applications of GIS in general civil engineering projects will be discussed.
