Abstract
City of Roseville GIS-Automated Parcel and Centerline Maintenance Track: Cadastral and Land Records Author(s): Dorothee Moss After moving its GIS data to ArcSDE in 2004, the city of Roseville maintains and updates all parcel, centerline and address data in ArcGIS. Being one of California's fastest growing cities in 2000-2005, it is necessary that new subdivision parcel, centerline and address updates be performed frequently. Since all new subdivision data is submitted in electronic CAD format, a multistep conversion process from CAD to SDE was necessary. Although this process was not difficult to perform, it still was very time consuming, slow and inconsistent. As a result, the city's GIS Team developed a customized application for ArcGIS that allows for fully automated parcel, address and centerline maintenance. This application converts CAD line and text data to SDE feature classes, creates parcel polygons and topology, populates centerline address ranges and manages parcel annotation. Overall, the parcel, address and centerline maintenance process has been significantly improved, saves staff time and provides more consistent and reliable results.
