Extending Your Enterprise to the Field--Case Study Track: State and Local Government Author(s): Kim Roden, Terry Bartlett This paper will present Martin County, Florida's, implementation of a Transportation mobile field force automation application to support traffic signs and signals inventory, maintenance, and work management. Martin County has been hit by multiple hurricanes over the last two years, and each hurricane blew down a significant number of the county's signs and signals causing a public safety issue asset maintenance challenge. Martin County is now successfully implementing Marshall's GeoResults Mobile "smart client" software on a rugged Tablet PC. GeoResults Mobile integrates with the county's Hansen ERP asset and work order systems. The solution supports a disconnected, wireless, or intermittent network environment. GeoResults Mobile is powered by ArcGIS Engine and has proven to be a cost-effective yet robust solution for Martin County. This presentation will cover Martin County's implementation of an operational mobile field solution and a description of the paradigm shift in going paperless with its field operations.
