Abstract
A Spatial Decision Support System for Urban Draining Systems Track: Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater Author(s): Niedja Lemos, Marie Batista, Niedja Lemos, Tarciso Silva, Tānia Nóbrega This paper is about the implementation of an urban drainage performance indicator named Idu. Idu is integrated into a GIS that makes a spatial decision support system possible. This indicator is a subindex of ISA/JP-Environmental Healthy Indicator (Batista, 2005). For the calculation of Idu, it is considered the state of the streets in an urban sector of a neighborhood (e.g., the possibility of flood occurrences, imperfections and pavements that may exist) is considered. A performance classification is adopted for the values of Idu. Its application may be useful as an instrument of urban planning and for determination of infrastructural investment priorities. It was initially applied in the coastal neighborhoods of Joćo Pessoa City, Brazil. The results showed that the neighborhoods of Bessa and Aeroclube had the worse relative performance of urban draining quality; Cabo Branco, Tambaś and Manaķra had presented the best performance.
