A Corporate Mobile Computing/GIS Solution
Track: Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater
Author(s): Aaron Gutierrez, Ali Diba Ph.D

Park Water serves five cities in Montana and California. Park's three individual companies have more than 60,000 services, collectively.

Park and its companies were doing most of their work using typical paper/pen approach for field and office. Park's IT Department and GIS coordinator were given the task to plan and deploy a mobile GIS application.

Using Esri software and Business Partners (DCSE) and the .NET language, Park's GIS coordinator, IT Managers and Programmers found an ideal framework for creating and using digital service order forms, underground service alert with GIS applications, redlining and creating other forms in .NET for operations and maintenance procedures with proper synchronization into databases.

This first phase has proven to reduce paper use, rekeying and quicker updates. This presentation will show the approach Park took. The presentation will demonstrate how Park and its companies use this framework and show plans for phases two and three.
