Alternatives to Conventional Stored Queries in the ArcIMS HTML Viewer Track: Application Development Author(s): Christopher Welchhans In the context of this paper presentation and the ArcIMS HTML viewer, a conventional stored query is one created using the ArcIMS software. Users with little or no experience developing Web site applications can easily create and implement stored queries in their mapping Web sites. The city of Olathe has developed custom tools and modified existing functionality to provide alternate methods for retrieving feature information using stored queries. The purpose of this paper presentation is to share what we have learned about the HTML viewer and to suggest some new ways of using stored queries in your ArcIMS Web sites. These tools benefit users and developers who require more flexibility than the built-in functionality offers.
