Abstract
Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Driven GIS--An Alternative Approach Track: Electric and Gas Author(s): Mike Casella, Steve Kerr PSE&G, New Jersey's largest electric and gas utility serving 1.6 million gas customers, recently implemented a Gas GIS system. This involved converting paper maps to digital format and migrating automated asset and customer data to the GIS. Concurrent with the implementation of the GIS, PSE&G implemented interfaces to keep the GIS synchronized with its Asset Management System and its Customer Information System. This presentation will describe the innovative approach that PSE&G has developed to integrate its Gas GIS with its SAP Asset Management System, CGI Computer Aided Dispatch system, Customer Information System and its Advantica Stoner Gas Modeling system. This approach has resulted in great efficiencies in the normally manual task of keeping GIS data up to date with enterprise asset management systems. Topics will include both the technical architecture employed and the business processes utilized to maintain synchronization between these systems. Mike Casella PSEG Service Corp.
