Sustaining Your Field Workforce through Real-Time Locating
Track: State and Local Government
Author(s): Dawn Siegel, Robert Scripture

The Oakland County Real Time Locator (RTL) Mapping Interface is a Web-enabled application that allows the user to spatially display and analyze real-time and historical information transmitted from a GPS-enabled mobile device. The application tracks the location of an asset through an automated vehicle locator (AVL) or a personal device such as a cell phone using the GPS capabilities. Through an ArcIMS Internet browser, users can monitor the location and movement of assets to quickly locate field staff.

The Oakland County Equalization Division will demonstrate how this technology is used for real-time and historical records retrieval and reporting capabilities for standard field services such as appraisals, job tracking, job scheduling, mileage estimates, route planning, time cards, and managing teams and individuals.
