Modeling to Predict Rare Plant Locations
Track: Parks and Natural Reserves
Author(s): Meghan Williams

This project utilizes ArcGIS 9.1 applications to model predicted threatened and endangered plant species locations within Yosemite National Park. Input parameters are solely the GPS-based perimeters of a few documented populations of one species. In particular, ModelBuilder, weighted overlay and custom scripting provide the foundation of the project. Spatial Data Modeler weights of evidence and regression analysis methods are also explored.
