Abstract
GIS Customer Kiosk for Municipal Cemetery Services Track: State and Local Government Author(s): Susan Carlson Many municipal cemeteries have limited personnel to assist customers. This project is a custom application for a customer kiosk as well as for cemetery management. The application links the cemetery database and a digital map allowing users to visualize, query, locate, and analyze cemetery data. The countertop kiosk allows customers to search for individuals, families, and available lots and view pricing and rules and regulations without the aide of cemetery personnel. Employees have access to the kiosk functionality plus expanded capabilities for managing the cemetery.
